App Store Preview Video
Client: Hostelworld

App store preview videos have a certain format, and I remember doing a good amount of research on other apps before designing this one for Hostelworld. As always, they supplied me with their desired copy and suggested accompanying visuals – I then turned that into reality and did my best to squeeze all their points into the 30 second limit!

This project – alongside the Capital Markets Day video – shows the culmination of several campaigns worth of refining and developing an animation language for Hostelworld. Lots of UI elements were animated for this asset and – just like in the CMD video – I had to balance the fine line between making UI visually interesting and over-dramatising it. 

As I often like to do, I layered in sound design throughout this project to give weight and substance to the motion – and to help audiences with the incredibly fast paced nature of it!

I created x10 localised variants for different territories, and designed it according to the specs required for Apple’s app store.
