Completed 2024 Video Game Social Content Client: Sticky Click
Batman Arkham Asylum is easily one of my favourite games – I first played it around the time that it came out in 2009 (once I’d managed to wrestle control of the family computer) – and subsequently played all of the sequels as they came out.
And so it was a wonderful surprise when I learned that Sticky Click was responsible for creating lots of the social content for the Warner Bros. Games UK social channels – and they wanted to assign all things Batman to me.
I hadn’t played these games for a while – but I still fitted immaculately into the batsuit and my mind began fizzing with ideas for all sorts of content series that I thought fellow Arkham fans would enjoy. Similarly to working across Speed Freeks – I created a set of graphics that expanded upon the aesthetic of the games and clearly separated the various series of content we ran; from Riddler trophy guides to Batman gadget tips.
Because the last game in the series was released over ten years ago now, a lot of the content primarily possessed nostalgia value rather than advertising new content. I assumed much of the audience had already played the games (maybe even several times) so I felt I could be a bit more playful with the content; showing stuff off that was a bit more niche or sometimes teasing players with guides for bits that they’re still struggling with ten years after the game came out.
